The Silent Assassin of Entrepreneurial Dreams (Are You Its Next Target)

The Silent Assassin of Entrepreneurial Dreams (Are You Its Next Target?)

June 23, 20244 min read

Hey Entrepreneurs,

Last night I drove my family to Orlando to treat my kids to LegoLand for the weekend.

But, when I got to the hotel I couldn't sleep.

You see recently, I witnessed something that sent chills down my spine.

I stayed up practicing meditation techniques to relax myself and reset after what I experienced.

It's a pattern I've seen play out far too often in the entrepreneurial world, and I feel compelled to share it with you.

You see, there's an invisible force out there that's derailing dreams, sabotaging success, and keeping brilliant entrepreneurs trapped in mediocrity.

I call it "The Enemy."

Now, this isn't some external threat or market force. It's far more insidious than that.

The Enemy is the voice in your head that whispers:

"I'm doing great already. Why push harder?"

"I've got everything under control, I can afford to skip a few days of meditation."

"Your current success is enough. Why risk it all for more?"

Or,

"I'm doing great right now, I don't need any help."

Sound familiar?

The Enemy often strikes when you're on the verge of a major breakthrough.

It's especially cunning when you're:

  • Pushing beyond your comfort zones

  • Creating a NEW self-image

  • Setting audacious goals

  • Dealing with external stressors (travel, lack of sleep, new relationships)

In these moments, The Enemy disguises itself as "reason" or "self-care."

It might suggest:

  • "You need to focus on your health right now." (While ironically encouraging habits that decrease your wellbeing)

  • "This new relationship deserves your full attention." (At the expense of your long-term vision)

  • "You're just not feeling motivated lately."
(Ignoring that motivation follows action, not vice versa)

  • "I think I got it all figured out. I don't need any more help or assistance."

  • "It's OK if I slack off for a bit."

I've seen The Enemy claim victory over countless dreams and goals.

To be honest, I've fallen victim to it myself in the past...

Just recently I noticed myself getting projects 90% done and then procrastinating on the final 10% to push it over the line.

I had to check myself and double down on self-hypnosis work (which I teach you to do in TRANSCEND).

But here's the truth, Entrepreneurs:

The path to extraordinary success is never comfortable.

It requires us to constantly push beyond our perceived limits, even when – especially when – it feels challenging.

So how do we defeat The Enemy?

  1. Recognize it for what it is.

When you feel resistance or doubt, ask yourself,

    "Is this The Enemy talking?"

(Usually, the first instance of the enemy creeping in is when you SLACK on your disciplines such as prayer, meditation or even waking up early.)

  2. Refocus on your "Alchemy of Self" – the highest version of you.

Is giving up aligned with that vision?

  3. Get back to your practice of meditation to increase your awareness so you CAN spot "The Enemy".

  4. Use visualization techniques to reinforce your goals, aspirations and inspire ACTION.

Remember Entrepreneurs, The Enemy is at its most dangerous when you're on the cusp of a major leap forward.

Don't let it ROB you of your potential!

If you're finding yourself struggling with The Enemy right now, if you feel like you're on the verge of scaling back your ambitions or giving up on a big goal...
